Installation plan and example of half-foot prosthesis

Installation plan for half-foot prosthesis

Type A: foot prosthesis (short foot residual limb, movable ankle joint)

In order to distribute the pressure of the prosthesis on the tibial surface as much as possible, the height of the front edge should exceed two-thirds of the calf. The posterior height should not exceed the origin of the gastrocnemius muscle.

Type B: foot prosthesis (suitable for Pirogov amputation with limited ankle movement)

Because this kind of stump is more sensitive and ball-like, it is recommended to use a foot prosthesis with a back piece that is easy to wear

Type C: foot prosthesis (suitable for Sem amputations without joint movement, requiring a socket lined with a soft plate)

The soft-lined socket compensates for deviations in maximum girth due to muscle atrophy and bulbous stump, facilitating wearability. The outer layer can be designed as closed or windowed
