Admirable! Henan one-legged guy rides 100 kilometers a day on the new Tibetan line
Today I would like to introduce to you a very inspiring young man, his name is Sun Youzhi. In 2008, Sun Youzhi was admitted to a medical university in Jinan, Shandong Province. In March 2009, Sun Youzhi lost his left leg in a car accident. During that time, running, cycling, and mountain climbing became "forbidden areas" for children who grew up in this mountainous area.
After graduating from college, due to physical reasons, I submitted many resumes when looking for a job, but nothing happened. Later, Sun Youzhi fell in love with traveling. He could not only enjoy the scenery along the way, but also meet many people, which made him very happy.
At the end of 2013, Sun Youzhi went to work as a volunteer at an educational institution in Dali. At that time, he was deeply moved by the perseverance of a disabled cyclist: "What others can do, I can also do."
Later, he secretly used the volunteer unit's bicycle to practice. After the attempt was successful, he discovered: "It turns out that I can also exercise by riding a bicycle, reach further places by bicycle to see more scenery, and meet more people by bicycle."
Through cycling, I got to know cyclists from all over the world, and we all had meals, tea, and chats together. Later, Sun Youzhi's personality became more and more cheerful, and the smiles on his face gradually increased.
In February 2014, Sun Youzhi and his travel companion Xiaomi (Sun Youzhi's current wife) rode from Zhengzhou to Haikou, a journey of more than 2,000 kilometers. This was his first long ride. Along the way, we experienced numerous hardships such as flat tires, lost cars, and heavy rains. Xiaomi took the initiative to put the luggage on her bicycle and gave him a lot of help and care. Through supporting each other along the way, we deepened our understanding, determined that the other person was the most important person in our lives, formed a deep friendship, and established a romantic relationship.
On November 8, 2014, the two got married. Sun Youzhi is also a romantic person. Last year, he rode the Sichuan-Tibet Line to the Everest Base Camp. A few days before the Chinese Valentine's Day, he deliberately took some photos of the starry sky at Everest Base Camp and sent them to his wife who was far away in his hometown during the Chinese Valentine's Day.
In the past half month of riding, Sun Youzhi followed the plan and rode about 100 kilometers every day. I couldn’t find a place to stay, so I pitched a tent and camped.
Along the way, some kind-hearted people offered to help him, but they were all rejected by Sun Youzhi: "Although I am riding a bicycle, this is my own way of traveling."
From Pusa to Kudidaban, we went uphill all the way. Although the altitude was only more than 3,000 meters, "But after I started riding, I couldn't stand it anymore. I couldn't ride and couldn't lift my legs. I felt very frustrated."
From Quanshuigou to Songxi Township, we climbed two Daban. The Jieshan Daban was 5,347 meters above sea level, and the Songxi Daban was 5,248 meters above sea level. I rode at an altitude of more than 5,000 meters all day long. "Besides the lack of oxygen, I felt sleepy. I felt like I could fall asleep at any time."
Under such conditions, Sun Youzhi overcame various difficulties and finally successfully rode the Xin-Tibet Line. He said: "I can use this leg to measure my future life."
