Guiyang Disabled Persons’ Federation launches this year’s “Prosthetic Limb Assembly Grassroots Service Project”

More than 100 disabled people receive free prosthetic limbs

According to news from the Guiyang Disabled Persons' Federation: Guiyang's "2017 Precision Rehabilitation Prosthetic Limb Assembly Grassroots Service Project" was recently launched in Qingzhen City. Within this year, 107 eligible poor disabled people in the city will be fitted with free prosthetic limbs.

This time, the prosthetic installation technician used for the first time the most advanced “full-contact load-bearing hydraulic pressure taker” imported from Germany, which is worth nearly 100,000 yuan. According to the Guiyang Disabled Persons' Federation, the 2017 precision rehabilitation prosthetic limb assembly grassroots service project plans to provide free installation of 40 cases of lower legs, 21 cases of thighs, 6 cases of special prostheses, and 40 cases of orthotics for poor disabled people in the city. In principle, it targets those who have never installed prostheses and those who have not received free installation of prostheses within two years.

It is reported that on July 10, the Guiyang City Disabled Persons' Federation has measured and taken shapes for 10 poor disabled people in Qingzhen. Before July 31, it will complete the installation, measurement and taking of prosthetic limbs for 97 poor disabled people in other nine districts (cities and counties) of Guiyang City. Within this year, all 107 recipients will have their prostheses installed.
